Summary

Stanage Bay is situated on the northern end of Shoalwater Bay about 200k’s north of Rockhampton Qld. The bay is quite protected with many calm estuaries and creeks. Stanage is a community of professional mud crabbers supplying wholesalers in Brisbane, anyone else would be holiday makers and fishermen (like us). It is supported by a Hotel with grocery and post office as well as fuel all under one roof. Other than that, with a few houses and a couple of impressive mansions that was all that made  Stanage Bay.

Our thanks goes to a great skipper “Gilligan” As far as the charter operators were concerned …they weren’t … we didn’t go back.

Biggest fish for the trip were two Estery Cod (Col 34lb and mine 36lb) and Dave’s  35lb. Spannish  Mackerel .

Col, Dave, Ashley, Matthew, Troy and Max
